Following last week’s excellent A level results, St Bede’s students are celebrating again, with 72% of students achieving the combined English and Maths score of grades 4 and above.
Amongst the eighty-six grade 9s achieved across the year-group seventeen students achieved the maximum grade 9 in Maths, and fourteen grade 9s in English Literature.
Some outstanding individual performances this year. Ayesha Harsh achieved maximum grades in ten subjects - eight grade 9s, one A* and one Distinction*. Emily Kingshott achieved seven grade 9s while Euan Kearney and Anastacia Seccombe both scored six grade 9s.
Headteacher Neville Harrison, said: “We are delighted with our results both at A level and GCSE. Students have performed superbly and I congratulate them for working so diligently throughout their two years of study to achieve their very best. This year has seen further significant changes to the curriculum and grading criteria. This was indeed a challenge for staff and students but a challenge they met with real determination and commitment: the fruits of their labours are evident in these fantastic results. Many of our students celebrating today, will join our thriving Sixth Form College, where they will be supported by excellent teachers who will ensure that they continue to flourish and excel in their studies. I’d like to thank all subject teachers for their unremitting care, dedication and support shown to all our students.”
