St Bede’s Sixth Form College: 16 to 19 Tuition Fund
The 16 to 19 Tuition Fund is one-off funding for the 2021/22 academic year that has been provided to support students and, to mitigate their disruption to learning, arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The funding is being primarily used to provide small group tuition for 16 to 19-year olds who received a GCSE English and/or Mathematics grade of 4 or below in the summer. Although targeted students are identified based on their prior attainment in English and Mathematics, the funding can be used to support students in their learning across a variety of subjects.
How St Bede’s Sixth Form College use the funding:
It is our intention to provide additional support to small groups of students (3-5 per group). Targeted student intervention will be focused on students who have yet to achieve a grade 5 in English and/or Mathematics.
Priority for tuition will be given to the most disadvantaged students based on their socio-economic background, SEND status and volume of disruption to their learning due to the ongoing challenges that COVID-19 presents.
We aim to use the funding to:
-
Run additional small group classes for identified students during the school day and/or as twilight sessions in College or via Microsoft Teams.
-
Purchase bespoke resources for students to support their learning.
This rationale may be updated to reflect any changes in ESFA guidance.
