Year 13 Mock Examinations 2021

Dear parent/carer,

I hope that you and your families are safe and well and that the start of term has begun well.

We are delighted with way Year 13 students have settled back into their academic studies and to life back in a more normal Sixth Form.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents/carers that Year 13 students will begin their first set of mock exams next week, starting on Monday 4th October. We firmly believe that having these mock exams will have a positive effect on focusing students’ minds and give them valuable formal exam experience early in Year 13.

Students were issued their timetables at the end of last week and should be using their time wisely in College (study periods and period 2 sessions) to prepare for the exams so they can perform to the best of their ability. The study room is available to students before and after College where they can study in a quiet environment.

The mock exams will provide teaching staff with up to date information regarding students’ current progress and what support may be needed in preparation for next summer.

Having experienced such a challenging time in Year 12, I must commend our Year 13 students for their resilience, hard work and positive attitude throughout the year, and I look forward to working with them this year as they prepare for their exams and next steps beyond St Bede’s.

If you wish to discuss the exams or any other issues, please do not hesitate to contact me at College.

Yours sincerely,

Aidan McCarthy

Director of Sixth Form
