Share a Story:
Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator for success in life, it allows us to develop our knowledge of the world, increases creativity and promotes good mental health.
Sharing stories together for just ten minutes a day will encourage a love of reading and it’s fun for everyone! You can read together anywhere and everywhere, from breakfast to bedtime! As part of World Book Day we want to encourage you to ‘share a story’ with your family. You could read aloud together or talk about your favourite books- we want everyone to get involved!
How can we access more books? Durham Libraries have a wealth of ebooks available and you can borrow up to 9 books at a time. Follow this link to register online and take advantage of this fantastic free service: Durham Libraries
The following links will take you to a range of websites that are really useful for providing lots of reading ideas, recommendations and activities:
We would also like to ask parents to donate any pre-loved books that they think would inspire and encourage our students. There will be a box in the entrance of the school from Monday 22nd February, where these can be safely deposited.
