Letter from the NCS

Dear colleagues, parents and students,

I am writing to update you on the steps that NCS are taking and how we are supporting our schools, colleges, young people and parents in light of global health concerns regarding COVID -19. In order to play our part in keeping everyone safe during this time we have made the following decisions about how we will operate over this period of uncertainty. With immediate effect, we have made the decision to;

● As schools and colleges are closing on Friday 20th March we will also suspend all face to face school activity; this includes all engagement currently booked with schools. We will also halt organising any future events in school.

● Continue to progress student interest and respond to questions via our online platform and social media channels.

● Close our offices until advised otherwise. We are available to process any requests for information from schools and colleges remotely.

The health and safety of all involved is and will remain our top priority and as the situation develops we will be proactive and thoughtful about our network of schools and your students. All decisions will be grounded in the wellbeing of students and educators and will be communicated promptly.

At present we have not been informed by the Government that the NCS programme will not take place in the Summer of 2020. Rest assured we will continue to update your students and parents/carers as to the status of their programmes and stand ready to support schools, teachers and parents with information and any resources you may find useful. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and take guidance from the government and educators as things evolve.

Our thoughts are with you at this uncertain and stressful time. Please get in touch, if you have any concerns or questions regarding any of the above,

Sincerely,

Sean Costello Head of Education Engagement NCST Trust
