Rebecca Scoops Prestigious Award

November 25, 2016

Congratulations to Rebecca Saunders (Year 8) for winning the prestigious Anne Frank Poetry award.

As part of the trip we had the opportunity to ride a private capsule on the London Eye – some really exciting experiences for me. The awards ceremony was held at the Amba Hotel, Charing Cross, where we had all stayed the night before. All the winning pieces of work were displayed (all of which I thought were amazing), and we had the chance to view all of them before the ceremony commenced. Each winner received a certificate and an amount of money for themselves and their school. As the winner of the Anne Frank Poetry Award I will also get to host a bronze bust of Anne Frank for my school to keep for the year. I really enjoyed the event as it was really well organised with an excellent message behind it, and to anyone out there who wants to give this competition a try, I say go for it!
