Dear Students, Parents, Carers,
I am delighted that you are interested in getting to know St. Bede’s School. This website will give you a glimpse into the rich and full life of our wonderful school.
St. Bede’s Catholic School and Sixth Form College was founded in 1964 and we are proud of our history and traditions. We believe that the very positive affirming relationship which exists between the students, staff, parents and community, is central to the ethos of our school. We have had Language College status since 1998; our students, therefore, continue to have exciting opportunities to develop their language skills, experience new cultures and deepen their understanding and knowledge of a global community.
As a Catholic School, we build upon the values of home and primary school and foster a strong sense of faith and belief in all of our students. The St. Bede’s tradition of ‘care and respect’ for others is very important to us and all students play a part in helping others – in our school community, in our local community and in areas of need across the world. We encourage each student to see him/herself as a citizen of the future, a citizen of the world.
St. Bede’s has a superb record of academic success. At GCSE and at A Level our students achieve outstanding grades, the result of their commitment and hard work; the support they receive from home and the expertise, dedication and inspiration of St. Bede’s staff who nurture each student so that he/she can fulfil his/her academic and personal potential.
St. Bede’s is, above all, a happy and inclusive school, a place where students work hard but where they also find friendship, enrichment and support. We are confident that each student who comes to us will be well prepared for the exciting challenges of the 21st Century.
