Beyond Sixth Form
Careers advice is readily available from our Progression Coach and Sixth Form College pastoral staff. All possible options for the school leaver are explored. Eight out of ten of our students progress to university education and preparation for this starts early in Year 12 with a full programme of speakers and higher education visits arranged throughout the two years of Sixth Form. We organise an in-house Careers Convention focusing on Higher Education and employment opportunities and all students take part in work experience.
Choosing your courses at the beginning of Year 12 is an important step towards planning your future. If you are not certain about what career path you want to follow after you leave college you need to do as much research as you can about higher education courses or employment and training. The career you have in mind may be a natural progression from the college or university course you choose, but if not, you need to find out what types of jobs will be available to you when you finish your education or training.
