Catholic Partnership Athletics
On Wednesday, 4th July, the St. Bede's athletics team travelled to Monkton Stadium in Jarrow to compete in the Catholic Partnership Athletics competition.
The standard of competition at this event is always extremely high and this occasion was no exception. Some of the outstanding performances from the girls’ team were from Sophie Wayper (Year 7), who achieved an outstanding second place in the shot; Jadwiga Bajurska (Year 8) achieved second place in the 800m and Danielle Scarr (Year 8), achieved third place in the high jump. In addition, Somer Hook managed to break the 3 minute barrier in her 800m event, smashing her personal best by almost 30 seconds.
