School Flooded
Dear Parents and Carers,
Following the horrendous flash floods in Lanchester on Saturday, I have been forced to close the school for all but Year 13 lessons and Years 11 and 12 students who are sitting exams. We will keep you updated each day via the website but unfortunately I do not see the situation changing until Wednesday/Thursday at the earliest - this will depend on how quickly we can get the school up and running to its full capacity again.
Ground Floor Sixth Form Block
The floods have caused more damage than earlier floods - the areas affected: Sixth Form study and the whole ground floor of the Sixth Form, including some classrooms (The Hub is not affected); Food Tech (MB's room); Language block; corridor to staff room, girls' gymn; girls' toilets. The playground area is a sea of silt and gravel and will probably need a JCB to restore.

Miss Turland's Geography Classroom
Hopefully we can get the rest of the students in before the end of the week.
Work on our flood defences will begin on 1st July so hopefully these depressing images will soon be a thing of the past.
Very best wishes and sincere apologies.
Mrs M Matthews
Headteacher
